Avinash Azad Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 4: The administration of Jammu University is likely to elevate a relative of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to the post of Deputy Director. Sources told Early Times that the relative of Jaitley's wife SangEeta, who is working as an administrator in a department of the varsity, is among eight candidates who have applied for the post of Deputy Director. Interview for the post would be conducted on August 8. Sources said the relative of Jaitley was on deputation for two years at Jammu University as Section Officer in 2004. "In 2006, the then Vice-Chancellor Amitabh Mattoo, under the influence of Jaitley, elevated the latter's relative as the Assistant Registrar", said sources. "Carrying forward the culture of serving politicians, the administration of varsity is likely to promote Jaitley's relative as Deputy Director," they said. Meanwhile, interview for three posts of Assistant Registrar for main campus, offsite campuses includes Kathua and Bhaderwah will be held after the interview of Deputy Director. "These three posts would be also filled on recommendationS of politicians," sources said. "Resentment is brewing among officers over biased and partial attitude being adopted by the administration. Even on certain issues the aggrieved officers are pinning hopes on the new Vice-Chancellor for cleaning the mess and fixing accountability for those who have made the university to suffer," sources added. |
