Sikh bodies condemn alleged murderous assault on 'Raagi'

Jammu, Aug 4: Various Sikh organizations today have condemned the alleged 'murderous attack on Mohinder Singh Khalsa member Shiromani Gurmat Ragi Sabha, J&K while he was performing his duties at Gurudwara Chatha Mill on the other day.
In a press conference here today in winter capital, the Sikh leaders representing various organizations said, "A murderous attempt was made on the life of Bhai Mohinder Singh Khalsa by one Satwant Singh (alias Sattu) s/o Hakam Singh of Chatha Mill on August 2, afternoon at Gurudwara Chatha Mill, Jammu when he was reciting gurbani in the presence of large number of devotees and Gurudwara Management Committee.
"After completing religious rituals held in the memory of Bhai Gopal Singh, when Bhai Mohinder Singh Khalsa Khalsa came out of the gurudwara hall, Satwant again attacked Mohinder Singh Khalsa (Ragi) with a sharp edged weapon, but Khalsa resisted it but suffered injuries, they alleged
They further added that on hearing about the murderous attack on the life of Mohinder Singh Khalsa, his family members also reached there and protested over it. "In the mean time two ladies including one NRI were also roughed-up, by some miscreants who also used unparliamentarily language against the two ladies in the public view by assailant and his accomplice hiding there," speakers said and added, "other two accused have been identified as Rangil Singh s/o Mehtab Singh, Sukhi s/o Surinder Singh both residents of Chatha Mill."
Alleging police to hush up matter, they said despite the fact that the complaint was registered by police Chowki vide FIR No 154/15 dtd 02 Aug, 2015 yet no arrest has been made till date.
Meanwhile members of Shromani Gurmat Ragi Sabha, J&K Jammu have condemned the assault on their colleague and have appealed to the entire Sikh community to boycott such unscrupulous persons which bring a bad name to the Sikh religion and community. United Sikh Council, J&K Akal Purkh KI Fouj & other religious organizations too have condemned this incident in strong words
