Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Aug 22: Youth General Secretary of Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Nadeem Khan has condemned the recent flare-up on the Line of Control (LoC) that resulted in the killing of about eight civilians. In a statement issued here, Khan said that it is highly unfortunate that the innocent people are dying because of such dastardly acts. Property worth lakh has got damaged while the local residents living in proximity to the border are being literally forced to migrate from their homes. Feeling traumatized the locals find it difficult to cope up with the situation, the statement said. Appealing the border forces of both countries to refrain from shelling, Khan said that both the parties need to exercise maximum restraint as to avoid such losses. Meanwhile, while demanding for relief and rehabilitation of the aggrieved families he said that the state and central governments should make joint efforts to rehabilitate the dislocated families and to compensate to their loss. He demanded Rs 10 lakh for the deceased and employment for any family member as compensation.
