Eight injured in tanker-bus collision

UDHAMPUR, Aug 22: Eight people were injured when a tanker and bus collided at Mand near here on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
According to police sources, a tanker bearing registration number JK22-3709 collided with a passenger bus bearing registration number JK02A-3477 at Mand.
Tikri police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur.
The injured persons have been identified as tanker driver Tanvir Ahmad (34) son of Ghulam Mohammad and his associate Shabir Ahmad (26) son of Ghulam Mohammad, both residents of Shopian Kashmir while the passengers of bus who received injuries include Rekha Devi of Manthal, Soma Devi of Katra, Deepak Kumar of Rajouri, Annu Devi (24) and her two daughters 3 year old Archana and 12 year old Madhu Rani, and Kaku Ram, all residents of Ramnagar. All were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. Police have registered a case and investigation was on.
