JAMMU, Aug 22 : Indian Cultural Forum (ICF) in its continuous endeavour to uplift music, literature and cultural heritage of the country, organized yet another Musical-cum-Literary evening here today at the auditorium of Government College for Women, Parade. On the occasion, Dr R D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Jammu University was the chief guest while Vijay Sambyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu was the special guest whereas Anuradha Rishi, President, Pandit Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust was the Guest of Honor. Joginder Chatterpal, President Dogri Sanstha presided over the function. In his welcome address, Prof Lalit Magotra, Chief Patron of ICF said that the Forum is committed to organize one to two programmes every month at different venues. He emphasized that the motto of the forum is to uplift the local poets and upcoming singers as well as musicians. The programme started with the Dogri song sung by Sargam Pant. Rabjot Singh, a very talented singer of the state presented Kunwar Shahryar's ghazal 'Mashle dard phir ik bar jalaa ke jaye' in Raag Shobhawari and 'Ham se mat poochiye ham kidhar jayenge' by Ansaar Kambri under the music direction of Sham Saajan. The item was followed by another song 'Chaar din vehrhe diyan shaan baawla' in Raag Peelu by Sargam Pant. This song was written by Dogri poet Bishan Singh Dardi. She also sang another Urdu ghazals written by Betab Marathee and Munawwar Rana. |
