JKSPYM organizes event on PM Social Security Schemes 8/23/2015 12:30:26 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22 : Mega Social Entitlement Event for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIVs) was organized by J&K Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses in collaboration with Canara Bank main and MAMTA HIMC. Total 70 members from the PLHIV community belongs to far flung areas of Jammu region which includes, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Udhampur, Billawar etc. were present during the event. The event was organized to link the community members with Pradhan Mantri Social Security Schemes (Surakha Bima) which includes the accidental coverage of Rs. 2 Lacs to the clients and Opening of Bank a/c at zero balance with the help of Canara Bank . Rakesh Ranjan, Chief Manager, Canara Bank Main branch, assured to provide the first insurance premium (PM Suraksha Bima Yojana) for the first year to all the clients invited for today's event and also to open bank a/c at zero balance during a sensitization meeting conducted with him earlier. As a result VK Gupta, Manager Canara Bank, Main Branch & officials from Canara bank were also present at the event and sensitized the community on the benefits of the schemes and its procedure to follow and joined hand with JKSPYM in successful implementation of the schemes. Rajan also assured to extend their every possible help in welfare of PLHIVs in the future endeavors. The event was started with welcome address by Santosh Kumari, Project Coordinator and she also briefed about the activities of Vihaan. Rakesh Kumar, Secretary, JKSPYM interacted with the PLHIVs at the event and assured that the CSC will continue to work for their betterment at every step.
