KATHUA, Sept 29:NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua organized a symposium on the topic "Make Road Safety a Habit" in collaboration with Regional Transport Office, Kathua. The welcome address was given by the Principal of the college, Dr B L Gupta. In his address he impressed upon the students to make road safety a habit in their life. This will save the precious lives of the people who are sharing the road facility. He expressed his deep pain and concern about the road accidents, unnatural deaths and injuries on the Indian roads. He welcomed and praised RTO Kathua Amarjit Singh for initiating road safety awareness campaign among the youth. He assured full support and assistance to RTO Kathua in sensitizing youth and public regarding road safety and making Kathua accident free zone of the state. In his address, Amarjit Singh laid stress on various initiatives of the Motor Vehicle Department regarding safety of the road sharers. He informed the students that awareness programmes are being organized in various educational institutions to spread awareness among students as they are considered the best messengers to spread awareness and information to the society. |
