Power hungry BJP Ministers pay no heed to Dr Jitendra Singh's suggestion

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 29: Apparently drowned by politics of power, BJP Ministers in the PDP-BJP coalition have not given any response to the serious suggestion given by the Union Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh to bring a resolution in the Assembly to grant Dogra certificate to the youth of Jammu region.
For the ensuing session of the J&K Legislative Assembly, none of the BJP MLA has so far announced to take up the issue of Dogra certificate to fulfil long pending genuine demand of the youth of Jammu. BJP MLAs are more concerned over emotive issues instead of taking up this genuine cause which will benefit thousands and thousands of unemployed youth of Jammu region.
Credible sources in the BJP said that party ministers in the coalition Government have directed party MLAs against bringing any resolution regarding Dogra certificate in the Assembly. They said that any such resolution will not be taken in good taste by the coalition partner PDP so it is better to avoid this genuine issue.
As per the revelations made by some credible sources two MLAs had shown their interest to move a resolution in the Legislative Assembly for Dogra Certificate but they were snubbed by the party ministers against taking any steps which would not in the interest of PDP in Kashmir Valley.
Union Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh on September 7 had urged the J&K government to bring out a legislation to revive the Dogra certificate and issue the same to youths who are willing to join defense services from the region.
"The Dogra certificate was there for long and it helped the youth of the region to get accommodated in the defense services. But the Congress government diluted the certificate in the name of equality between the two regions, but it helped nobody," he had said.
Singh had appealed all political parties, including Congress to come onboard and help to restore the Dogra certificate to the youth of the Jammu region.
There are many other places in the country where the youth get certain certificates which help them to get relaxation in joining the defense services. "Dogra certificate does not have anything based on religion. Its issuance is based on the demographic and scientific reasons, so it should be restored by the State Government", he said. The previous UPA government had announced relaxation for recruitment in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
