Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 29: A top bureaucrat is alleged to have given a damn to the direction of the Deputy Chief Minister to probe the allegations against an Executive Engineer. Documents in possession of Early Times revealed that despite written order issued by the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh to Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, to enquire a complaint received by former against the engineer, the latter sublet his job to an alleged tainted engineer, against whom the complaint was made. "The Commissioner Secretary, Local Bodies should look into the matter and personally report facts immediately", reads the note written by DyCM to the commissioner. Astonishingly, the letter gathered dust in office of HUDD Commissioner for more than a month. "The letter (order to enquire the allegations) was forwarded to the commissioner on July 29, 2015 by the office of DyCM and on September 2, 2015, the commissioner forwarded it to Director, Urban Local Bodies Jammu, asking him to enquire into the matter and submit factual report immediately", documents reveal. Ironically, following the foot-steps of his boss, the director further sublet his job to the XEn against whom the complaint was filed by Deepak Kumar and others. "I am directed to request you to please furnish the para wise reply to this office urgently, as same is to be sent to administrative Deptt", a letter written to XEn Local Bodies Division-I Jammu by Deputy Director ULB Jammu reads. Not only Commissioner, but the entire department has disobeyed the deputy CM's order. "It seems that the department, to save the engineer is adopting delay tactics", sources alleged. |
