| BJP SC Morcha national president faces 'anger' of local community leaders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: Unhappy with the BJP leadership for having side-lined the members of SC community in all key political appointments, various SC leaders put their foot down and asserted before the BJP SC Morcha national president to convince the central leadership to consider the name of any SC leader for the post of party's state president for which the election process has been set into motion. In a subtle warning these leaders explained the reason for their disgruntlement and maintained that in the party's massive victory in the Assembly elections the SC community had played pivoted role and it was time for the leadership to reciprocate by giving due recognition to their aspirations.
Sources said the SC Morcha national president Dushyant Gautam who was on 3 day visit to Jammu had to cut a sorry figure when he faced a volley of questions from the leaders of the community who matter at the local level during their meeting with him. Sources said it was Gautam first who expressed displeasure over what he termed as poor arrangement and a lowly organised political shows with meagre strength of audience in a couple of programmes during his visit to Jammu. However, he faced wrath of the community leaders who minced no words in expressing their utter discontent and annoyance in the BJP leadership having ignored them all through after formation of Government in the State.
Sources said these leaders who had purposely sought time to meet with the SC Morcha national president defended lack of interest and enthusiasm of supporters with various reasons and questioned the existence of state level SC Morcha in terms of its recognition and due to that should have come forth for a series of appointments going on during the last few months. They asserted that if the Morcha was meant to exclusively take care of concerns of the community why its leadership has failed to address their aspirations in the backdrop of the fact that the community had enmasse supported the party which enabled it to win as many seats, sources said, adding that the aggressive posture and angry mood of the leaders made the national president uncomfortable and speechless.
The leaders of the community representing various SC bodies also presented a picture as to how the party leadership ignored the community leaders who have been associated with the party were ignored while choosing a selected few first for MLC berths and later for posts in various Boards and Corporations where too the genuine aspirants were pushed to wall and a couple of handpicked , unknown people adjusted against the berths meant for this community, sources said. In the backdrop of this annoyance nourished by the SC community, it was conveyed to Morcha national president that in order to pacify their anger , central leadership must consider the name of any leader as state president which will be a first of its kind in the history of party. |
