Absconding 'murder accused', re-arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: Satwari police today secured the re-arrest of the murder (matricide) accused who had escaped from the police custody few days ago. Police said that the accused Mohd Altaf alias Kali son of Late Latief Mohd R/O Narwal Pain managed to give a slip to Police custody after breaking the window of the bathroom of the Police station, Satwari few days ago. "The accused was involved in the murder of his mother Mst Rani and was arrested in case FIR No. 200/2015 u/s 302, RPC of P/S Satwari on September 18, police said, adding, "Following his escape, police booked him in a fresh case under FIR no 209/2015 u/s 224 RPC." Taking serious note of the incident SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, IPS had constituted various special teams under the supervision of Udhey Bhaskar Billa, IPS SP City South Jammu and Sachin Gupta, KPS SDPO City South, Jammu to nab the escaped accused person. The teams headed by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh and PSI Ashok Bajaj raided various places in Jammu and outside Jammu. "On Specific information that the accused is hiding in the premises of under construction building of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and is planning to leave the state," police said and added, "team headed by Inspector Manjeet Singh SHO Satwari raided the under construction building of the Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar." The entire operation was closely monitored by Udhey Bhaskar Billa, IPS SP City South Jammu and Sachin Gupta, KPS SDPO City South, to ensure that there is no harassment or panic among the patients undergoing treatment at Hospital and successfully re-arrested accused. |
