Srinagar, Sept 29 Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today condoled the death of two pilgrims from the state in the Haj stampede last week. On Sunday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had put the death toll in the Haj stampede in Mina at 1090, much higher than the figure of 769 given by Saudi authorities. Those killed in the stampede included 45 Indians. In his condolence message, Sayeed expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. The Chief Minister, who also heads the State Hajj Committee, offered condolences to the family members of all those Hajjis who lost their lives in the tragic stampede at Mina last week.
