JAMMU, Sept 29 : A captivating programme of music and poignant poetry titled 'Chamatkar-2' was presented by Dogri Sanstha at K.L. Sehgal Hall of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here today where melody enthusiasts were charmed by the depth of free verse and flight of soulful music. In the second programme of its kind, based on the heart-rending blank verses in Dogri by Prof Lalit Magotra, the magical compositions prepared by the noted music director Brij Mohan left the audience spell bound. The singing of poems were rendered by Naveen Sharma, teenager upcoming singers Vanshika Jaral and Roshi Shaminotra while the senior thespians Raj Kumar Bahroopia ,Gurmeet Kour Jamwal, Nirmal Vikram, Balvinder Singh, Rahul Singh and Tarun Sharma gave voices to the live recitation of poems. The singers were accompanied by Rakesh Anand on flute, Sanjay Pashi on Guitar and Karan Malhotra on Tabla. Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest Anjali Sharma, Director Doordarshan Kendra congratulated Dogri Sanstha and Brij Mohan for venturing this experiment for the second time in most successful manner. The music lovers of Jammu are witness to the formation of a new tradition of music which is rare, more creative and inspiring, She added. Dr. A.S. Aman, Additional Secretary JKAACL, who shared the presidium as special guest, eulogized the efforts of Sanstha to enrich the traditions of language, literature and culture. |
