Jammu, Sept 29 : Social Activist and Convener Sangarsh RTI Movement Balvinder Singh along with other social activists while addressing the press conference in the Park of Raja Jambu Lochan near Civil Secretariat and Ranbireshwar Temple Shalimar Jammu, said that though the Raja Jambo Lochan's Pratima Sthall was inaugurated by the then Governor of the State Gen KV Krishna Rao on 13thof April 1994, to give a message to the public especially to the visiting tourists and pilgrims that Jammu City is founded on the ethos of "Unity in Diversity" where Lion and goat live, eat and drink together which never happened anywhere else, but this place has been bearing the blunt of neglect by the Jammu Development Authority for the last so many years. Singh said that though the park lies exactly in front of the Power Corridors of the State but park is in a very dilapidated condition. This small but significant symbolic representation of Jammu has been well portrayed by the sculptor on the slope of a hill but one cannot even see the pictures of the Dogras in traditional dress, the royal places, Dogra Soldiers, the Raja's holding Darbar, having elephant ride and typical palanquin bearer in Dogri costumes presenting the cultural aspect of Duggar carved on the walls of the park from both sides because of the long size grass grown there. |
