JAMMU, Jan 22: Notwithstanding desperation being shown by a section of BJP leaders to form government as early as possible, all is not well in the party because a faction has started move to oppose alliance with PDP. This group has patronage of some central leaders, who are also against continuation of the alliance with the "pro-Kashmir"- PDP. Credible sources said that for the last one week the faction, which is against alliance with PDP, has become active because there is feeling among this group that it is the best time to mount pressure on the leadership on this issue. Sources said that from the day one this faction was against forming government with PDP but due to stature of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed this faction could not succeeded in its game-plan to sabotage the move to form coalition. But now, sources said, after demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed this faction is trying to convince the high command that continuation of alliance with PDP would be proved counter-productive for the party in coming days especially in other parts of the country. This faction is suggesting that after demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed there is no mature leadership in PDP, which is able to tackle in the situation at the time of crises so it is better to break link with this party. The BJP high-command has so far not given seriousness to the arguments being given by this group but this faction has intensified its campaign on different fronts. This group is arguing that National Conference is the best choice so party leadership must explore possibility of changing partner. A senior BJP leader, who wished not to be quoted, revealed this faction also starting roping in some MLAs of the party to accomplish the game-plan. |
