Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 22: Virtually succumbing to the political pressure exerted on it by a Kashmir-based ex-MLC, the State Police Headquarters (PHQ) has re-allotted him the PSO it had withdrawn earlier. The PSO was withdrawn in May last year but the ex-MLC did not relieve him. The PHQ even took departmental action against the PSO and also stopped his salary, but the ex-MLC did not let him go despite that. He refused to take the other PSO allotted to him by the PHQ, according to police sources. He made it clear to PHQ that he wanted to retain his old PSO and would not take any new PSO, the sources added. He also took the assistance of some other Valley politicians who spoke to the PHQ on his behalf. Succumbing to the political pressure, PHQ was ultimately forced to cancel its earlier order and issue a new order which said the PSO would continue to be attached with the ex-MLC for his protection. |
