Jammu, Feb 1: In the backdrop of the demolition drive against forest land encroachers in Bathindi, Sunjwan areas, some protestors reportedly pelted stone at the residence of SDM South in Sunjwan area here today.
The protestors staged sit in dharna after two structures were dismantled by the joint team of forest and revenue squads at Sunjwan and Bathindi areas. To register their protest against drive launched by forest department, the protesters blocked Bathindi road and amid slogans against Forest, JMC and Revenue officials they alleged that these government agencies facilitate influential persons including ex ministers, revenue and police officers but take action against common man.
They also demanded demolition drive against the structures erected by influential including ex ministers and police officers. Further they alleged that SDM South's residence too has been built on forest land. |
