Jammu, Feb 1: For the BJP, its leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have no competence to take decisions and their role is merely of puppets or messengers with regard to political developments in J&K, which has been passing through a political stalemate for the last around one month. This has once again become evident in the latest developments following Governor N N Vohra's communiqué to both PDP and BJP inviting them separately for discussion over Government Formation in Jammu and Kashmir on February 2. Even as the BJP hurriedly convened a Core Group meeting of the party this morning for discussing the present political scenario vis-à-vis Governor's invitation, nothing substantial was discussed in the meeting, except a unanimous resolution to approach the high command for seeking direction on party stand in the wake of Mehbooba Mufti's conditions for Government Formation in J&K. According to the sources, no one of the Core Group members had anything to say, during the meeting, in reaction to Mehbooba Mufti's purported veiled attack on BJP and RSS leaders, who according to the PDP supremo, had been fueling contentious issues during late Mufti Sayeed's Government. Fearing than any reaction on Mehbooba's remarks may annoy her more thus further spoiling prospects of Government Formation in alliance with BJP, the saffron leaders preferred to maintain a silence over the development and resolved to keep the high command informed about the same, sources explained. Immediately after the Core Group meeting, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, State BJP president Sat Sharma and former State president Jugal Kishore flew to New Delhi for informing the party high command about the Governor's invitation and seeking further direction on what to be conveyed to the Governor in scheduled meeting tomorrow, sources said. Even as all the national parties consult high command on important issues, it is only BJP that has virtually reduced its State unit leaders as mere puppets, apparently because of incompetence of the latter. |
