| Bank robbery attempt foiled in Rajouri, One held, manhunt on | | | Rajouri, Feb 1 : Police today claimed to have foiled a major attempt to loot a bank located in Palma village with the arrest of one robber while massive manhunt is on to nab the three absconders.
Police said, "Alert police party guarding J&K Grameen Bank at village Palma have foiled an attempt of bank robbery on the intervening night of January 31/Feb 1 when a group of four burglars tried to break into the bank.
"Acting swiftly the police managed to apprehend one burglar identified as Waqar Ahmed son of Mohd Shabir resident of Kotdhara village, police said, adding, "immediately after the incident a police team led by SHO, Chaman Gorkha rushed to Palama and had laid cordon around the bank."
Police said, "The accused is under sustained interrogation by the police and police has launched massive manhunt to arrest the absconding accused whose names have been disclosed by the arrested accused |
