Bovine smuggling bids foiled, two held

Udhampur, Feb 1 : Police today claimed to have foiled two bovine smuggling bids with the arrest of two accused besides rescuing ten (10) in Udhampur district. Meanwhile hunt is on to nab some of the absconding accused. Reports said, "Police Party of Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka near Jakhani and intercepted one Tata Mobil (JK14B-5599) on its way towards Srinagar. "Police found five bovine animals loaded in vehicle and seized the vehicle while driver and smuggler manged to escape, police said. Yet in another bid near Jakhani, police intercepted another vehicle (JK14C-3252) on way towards valley. "Police found five animals loaded and arrested bovine smuggler namely Mohd Binya of Thard and Driver Imtyaz Ahmad of Thard Udhampur arrested on the spot. A case stands registered at Police Station Udhampur
