Elections inevitable, get ready for snap polls : Rana to cadre | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 1 : Assailing PDP-BJP combine of creating a constitutional crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, the Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today asked the cadre to get ready as elections had become inevitable. "After protracting drama over the formation of government, the PDP is seeing now the coalition as unpopular while BJP is crushing its core agenda to get into the government", Rana said while addressing workers during several interactions at Keri, Chrangal, Mathwar and Rabta in Nagrota Assembly constituency. He said the opportunistic partners have brought the state to such an impasse where public interest has fallen prey to personal ambitions. "The people have been watching the political developments with disgust and are wondering as to how the coalition partners could trample the mandate they had given for steering the state to peace, progress and development," he added. He said the duo owes moral responsibility for putting the state in a situation where development remained a far cry and peoples' problems multiplied with each passing day. Rana further expressed surprise over the realization dawning on PDP after nearly a year, as its leaders kept eulogizing the coalition and the political acumen of RSS and the Prime Minister. "During electioneering they kept telling voters something different and vowing not to allow RSS footprints in the Valley ", he said while continuing his attack on arch political rival PDP. He asked the PDP to shun hypocrisy and make public admission of their wrong judgement, misgovernance and poor performance. Urging the party cadre to gear up for the big democratic exercise, saying though avoidable for a poor state like Jammu and Kashmir yet necessary to get the state out of morass and mess, created by the PDP-BJP combine. On this occasion Provincial President NC expressed satisfaction over the mass outreach of the party units, especially at the grass roots level units, and hoped they will make the people aware about failures and follies of the PDP-BJP combination. "As a premier political party of the state, we have to be amidst our people and to gain their trust in the political system, which has been put in jeopardy by the power hungry PDP and BJP", he said adding that electorate will definitely held out the punishment they deserve when the D-day comes. Rana, who represents Nagrota in Legislative Assembly, heard the problems of people and assured them that these will be taken up at appropriate levels for immediate redressal. |
