J&KTAF allege mass irregularities by Transfer Committee, Chief Education Officer

Rajouri, Aug 27: Members and office holders of J&K Teacher's Association Forum (J&KTAF) have leveled allegations of mass irregularities committed by the members of Transfer Committee and by the Chief Education Officer in the recent transfers of Masters in Rajouri district.
In this connection a deputation of the teachers led by Tanveer Shawl, president J&KTAF on Friday met with Mohd Iqbal, Joint Director (Trainings) and apprised him about the irregularities committed in the recent transfers of Masters and mismanagement in the office of Chief Education Officer (CEO).
"Transfer Committee members have openly violated the rules and regulations laid down by the Education Department in the transfers of the teachers and the clerks and other officials at the office of CEO, Rajouri mostly either are being directed by the politicians or they execute transfers on monetary considerations" said a member of J&KTAF.
Tanveer Shawl said that instead mitigating the problems of the teachers, CEO himself creating problems for them and he should be transferred with immediate effect.
He also demanded cancellation of the transfer list of the masters and requested for the new list being prepared by honest officials of the department.
Important to mention that in pursuance of government order No.622-Edu/15 dt 22/12/15 and District Development Board's decision (Rajouri) for the rationalization of staff, Chief Education Officer vide his office letter No.CEOR/E2/10588 dt 16/7/16 had sent two proposal to the Director School Education for the transfers of the Masters.
Director School Education after scrutiny of the proposals (rationalizations & general transfers) vide office order No 426-DSEJ/16 dt 9/8/16 had effected the transfers of 562 Masters (under general category) and 101 (under Rationalization) and directed them to join their duties immediately with the directions that their salary for the month of August will be drawn from their new places of posting.
But many masters & teachers have leveled serious allegations of favoritism against the members of Transfer Committee and a deputation of the masters/teachers had also met the director school education to apprise about the factual position and irregularities committed in making the transfers of the master.
Tanveer Shawl and Shahbaz Khan, office holder of Pir Panjal Regional Employee Front (PPREF) have alleged that due to mismanagement of education sector and political interference, educational standard in the Government schools had been falling day by day and people, even government employee including teacher, prefer to send their wards to private institutions.
Joint Director (training) has assured the deputation to raise their problems and concern before the Director as well as before the Education Minister for appropriate action in this matter.
However, he warned the teachers for showing casual approach towards their duties and suitable action under rules will be taken against the teacher who will be found involved.
