"It is also providing an ultra-high speed backbone for e-Governance and has links to multiple Global Networks", they added. However, the university overlooking the benefits of NKN has once again started the process of purchasing additional bandwidth to the tune of 40 mbps, 60 mbps, 100 mbps from the private players for which the university has already called the quotations. "What is the need of involving private players, when university is getting free of cost connection from NIC and the network is many times faster (1GB faster than 40/60 mbps)", they questioned. "The university authorities must stop misusing the funds, which are meant for benefit students, scholars of the university", they said and added that all the web sites of the university are hosted outside the campus and most of the links on the site don't work. "The University has to spend Rs 20 lakh more to procure additional bandwidth", sources said, adding that who is going to be benefited from such a huge purchase?. Though the other universities in the state which are managing very well with the NKN connectivity.
