Sunderbani, Sept 18: Accusing their MLA of ignoring development work at Sunderbani, the Thanda Pani residents staged a huge protest and blocked road. They also burnt effigy of the BJP MLA Ravinder Raina. The protestors said that MLA was discriminating against the people of Thanda Pani area and alleged that that MLA who belongs to Nowshera is busy in seeking development works there at the cost of Sunderbani. He said that for the last nearly one month the public is facing worst kind of crisis and the concerned departments have failed to provide essential services to the people. He lamented that the scheduled and unscheduled power cuts are affecting the normal life. "Moreover when there is no power cut the low voltage was damaging their electronic gadgets", he added. "We are facing crisis in this scorching weather for the last 15 days, but the authorities are least bothered, forcing people to take to the streets," said Prem Sharma," a local. He added, "We have apprised the authorities including MLA regarding our miseries but they are not paying any heed to our demands". They said, "We elected Ravinder Raina over Congress leader with lots of hope but since election and formation of government, MLA never listened to peoples' problems," an aggrieved supporter of BJP said. He added, "I personally regret that I voted for Ravinder Raina, who even does not know the proper geography of the area." "Our road and streets are broken, water pipes are uprooted, the transformers which were earlier used to be replaced within 24 hours now are not even removed after 20-30days," he regretted. |
