Mega event 'Kala Utsav-2016' receives overwhelming response

KISHTWAR, Oct 5: With an aim to give imputes to various cultural activities, a mega event of Kala Utsav 2016 as a part of national event was organized by the Department of Education at District Kishtwar at multi-purpose hall of GHSS boys Kishtwar received overwhelming response from students and locals.
The event organized on the theme of Kala Utsav for this year is "Living Traditions of Tribal and Traditional art of different regions" has become sources of attraction for students from secondary and Higher Secondary level from different schools of district. A panel of judges from different field of art was nominated for adjudication and adjudged the performance of participants.
Nagseni, GHS Galhar bagged the first three positions during the second-II of Kala Utsav 2016 after Zonal level competition. The third phase is State level to be followed by National level competition.
In the district level function at Kishtwar there was an outstanding display of art from different areas of district and the local arts were showcased viz. folk dance of Paddar, the Tribal culture of Inderwal, Nagseni and Sarthal by H.S.S Sarthal enthralled the gathering.
The event was chaired by Abdul Hamid Fani Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar.
Besides locals and eminent citizens of area, principals, lecturers, masters and teachers were present on this occasion.
Dr. Sajid lecturer DIET Kishtwar -the Nodal officer of the event was assisted by his colleague lecturer Majid Kichloo.
