Tara Chand, his men out to dislodge MLC Jugal
10/6/2016 12:22:43 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 5: The controversy over participation of MLC Jugal Kishore in the Gandhi Jayanti function, which was organized by the Pradesh Congress Committee here, is snowballing into a major controversy as a group of dissidents are mulling to use the opportunity to corner this die hard Azad loyalist for settling personal political scores, sources told Early Times.
They said to devise a strategy in this regard, a secret meeting was held at the residence of former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand where a decision was taken not to miss the opportunity to dislodge Jugal Kishore from heading the dissident camp.
The meeting was attended by a handful of Tara Chand loyalists, including Balwan Singh, Maheshwar Singh, Vinod Mishra, Ashok Sharma, and a few others. Even as Dr Manohar Lal Sharma was also invited, he preferred to stay away from the meeting by claiming to be busy somewhere in his home constituency.
According to the sources, the Congressmen present in the meeting suggested that video clips, photographs and newspaper cuttings of the news about participation of Jugal Kishore in PCC sponsored function, that too in the presence of PCC president G A Mir, should be forwarded to Ghulam Nabi Azad. It will expose Jugal Kishore before Azad, who considers the former as his most confident in Jammu Kashmir Congress, the participant opined and also resolved to take other members of the dissident camp into confidence in their mission against Jugal Kishore.
On the other hand, sources said that Jugal Kishore has pooh-poohed all such conspiracies against him and even advised his well wishers not to speculate more on the reasons behind his participation in the Gandhi Jayanti.
The reaction of Jugal indicates that his participation in the PCC function, where Sham Lal Sharma had cheerfully greeted with saying `Jai Mata Di', was not a personal decision but on the instruction of Ghulam Nabi Azad, said a senior Congressman in the dissident camp.
