Jammu, Oct 18: Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Chak Bhalwal, Jammu organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with PG Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu. During the programme besides awareness lecture on "Blood Donation" interactive session was also organized.
According to press release, nearly 65 students and staff members donated the blood during the camp. During the programme Dr Vijay Sawhney (HOD, PG Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu) Spoke about the importance of Blood Donation. Dr. Sarbjeet Singh, Convener Red Cross, Associate Professor & Head, Mechanical Engineering Department, GCET, Jammu in his address stressed on the need of role of youth in nation development and stressed on the need of donating blood.
He further assured that these type of camps will also be organized in future for both students and faculty of the Institute.
