2 petrol pumps booked for malpractices at Baramulla

BARAMULLA Oct 18: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Assistant Controller Baramulla today conducted a surprise inspection of petrol pumps in the district, during which two petrol pump owners were booked for malpractices.
A statement of the Department said both the pump owners were booked as per the provisions of the law and concerned dispensing units were seized.
The statement said the Department is considering strict action against the defaulting dealers in coordination with the concerned oil marketing companies. The petrol pump owners of the district have been asked to conduct routine delivery check of their retail outlets using a 5 liter capacity measure duly verified by the Department.
The Department said in case any error is observed in fuel delivery, sale of fuel needs to be stopped and same needs to be brought in the notice of the concerned inspector of the Department for re-calibration of the dispensing units.
