Jammu, July 24: Three days training of Trainers on VHSNC, MAS & Community Action for Health was organized by NHM, J&K and was inaugurated at Conference Hall, Nagrota, Jammu under the supervision and guidance of Mission Director, NHM, J&K. Dr. Harjeet Rai, Divisional Nodal Officer, NHM, Jammu, welcomed the participants and while addressing the participants, highlighted the importance of Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committees (VHSNCs) at Community Level. He said that VHSNCs have been constituted with a strong focus on community engagement to ensure people's participation in health and to enable action on the social determinants of health. ASHA and VHSNC function in a coordinated manner to ensure achievement of positive health outcomes at the community level. VHSNC have a unique ability to drive local health agenda. Disease prevention and health promotion through the ASHA and VHSNC holds substantial promise in realizing the vision of achieving universal health coverage. The experts of Community Action for Health, Advisory Group on Community Action (AGCA), Secretariat PFI, MoHFW, GoI, Daman Ahuja and Sourabh Raj, informed the participants about the roles and responsibilities of VHSNCs through PowerPoint presentations and shared experiences from across the country with the participants. For further strengthening of services to the people of State, National Health Mission has initiated various training programmes. The three days training programme is aimed to prepare a pool of Trainers from each district to further train the VHSNC members at the grass root level. |
