IL&FS Skills fails to release Vocational Trainers salary since March | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24: The Vocational Trainers deployed in government senior secondary schools for imparting vocational training through various private companies are not getting regular salaries. Wishing anonymity a Vocational Trainer informed Early Times that the RMSA hired partner IL&FS Skills has failed to release salary of Vocational Trainers since March 2018. A Vocational Trainer, who is supposed to be paid Rs 20,000 on a monthly basis have been denied their salary since March. The company had deputed nearby 100 vocational trainers in various government schools across Jammu division. They have been appointed for imparting skills in two trades like health care and IT. While some companies have been making payment regularly as per agreement but both companies have delaying the Vocational Trainers salaries two to three months. This had become a cause of concern for these trainers as anyone who raised their voice was shown the door. "Though the government has appointed particular company wise coordinators to ensure smooth operations of this scheme in each district, the aspect of non-payment of salaries remained to be addressed as trainers feared being terminated if they raised their voice," said another vocational Trainer. Vocational skills were being imparted to students as per a scheme of the Ministry of HRD. While initially, hundreds of government schools chosen by the ministry were brought under the ambit of this scheme. IL&FS Skills Regional Head Col MM Shah was not available for comments. |
