SRINAGAR, July 24: At a time when the Governor's Rule has brought cheers on the faces of general public, the people are disappointed with the civil and police administration for the mismanagement at Haj House and Srinagar airport. "We were told to report at 8 am at the Haj House, but the departure of our flight was scheduled at 12:30 pm ", said a relative of a pilgrim. Wishing not be named, he said, "The pilgrims faced difficulties in luggage clearance due to lack of coordination between Haj authorities and police officials at the Haj House, and same was observed at the airport. "No one was present there to help clearance and shifting of luggage of pilgrims, as a result a crowd of pilgrims gathered near the luggage clearance area at Haj House," the man said. Eyewitness said that police officials were seen behaving rudely with the pilgrims and their relatives. "It is very unfortunate that such things are happening in the Governor's Rule," they said. The first return and inbound flight of the Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will be August 25 from Jeddah International Airport, whereas the last flight carrying J&K Haj pilgrims from Jeddah to Srinagar will be on September 7. The people have appealed the Governor and DGP to reshuffle the staff from Haj House and Airport, so that on the return the Hajis will not face in difficulties. |
