JAMMU, July 24: With J&K witnessing spurt in the cases of rape, the significance of setting up of exclusive Fast Track Courts (FTCs) for day to day trial of cases related to sexual abuse and other heinous crimes has grown manifold. Abhishek Vasudev, an Advocate, said that any further delay in setting up FTCs in J&K will be an injustice with the rape victims as they need speedy trials to get a fair dealing from the justice delivery system. Nitesh Jandial, an Advocate, expressed deep regret that the society has to face such grisly crimes like rapes even though women have traditionally enjoyed high respect in our culture. In order to give a befitting reply to the perpetrators of such crimes, the FTCs in the state should be established at the earliest so that justice is delivered without casing unnecessary delays. Mohd Asif Shah, an Advocate, expressed serious concern over recent spurt of crimes against women in the state. He said that the state government should take series of measures to curb such crimes and the formation of FTCs could one such step as with their establishment the trials related to such barbaric crimes will get over speedily which could instill a sense of fear among the criminals. |
