Jammu, July 24 ; National Service Scheme unit of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Canal Road, Jammu celebrates Vanmahotsava by planting 50 saplings of useful trees in the college premises. The plantation drive was supported by International Volunteer Foundation, Jammu. Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Principal, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, planted the first sapling alongwith the special guests Anil Slathia, Range Officer, Talab Tillo, Advocate Ankur Sharma, J&K High Court and O.P. Bakshi. On the occasion, Dr. Pawan said that Vanmahotsav is celebrated countrywide and it is high time for all of us to plant trees in and around the city area to counter pollution and global warming. He said NSS volunteers are the best ambassadors in raising awareness among the people about the importance of planting trees. He congratulated the NSS Programme Officers, Prof. Neeraj Sharma and Prof. Sandhya Bhardwaj and volunteers for successfully organising the plantation drive.Those present on the occasion were Prof. Srikant Sharma, Prof. Apfan Ali, Prof. Savita Jamwal, Rahul Aggarwal, Ganesh Singh and Kiran Kumar Sharma from International Volunteer Foundation. |
