Anaganwari Workers, Helpers call on Ganai, raise several issues | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 24: Anganwari Workers and Helpers Union, Jammu & Kashmir has informed that six Working Committee Members of the Union were called by the Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, at Srinagar on July 20. Addressing a press conference here today, Union's president of Jammu province, Suman Suri said that the members of the Union, who met the Advisor Ganai, comprised of Renu Sharma-chairperson, Mahjbeen Mugal-vice president, Veena Jamwal- secretary; Monika Mehta-spokesperson and Ganga Sharma-member, besides Taslima Subhan-president of Kashmir Chapter and herself. Suri said that on the occasion a memorandum highlighting demands of Anganwari Workers and Helpers was presented to Ganai on behalf of thousands of Anagnwari Workers & Helpers working in various ICDS Projects of Jammu & Kashmir State. She informed that the major demands raised in the memorandum include regularization of Anganwari Workers & Helpers as permanent government employees with minimum wage grade with immediate effect, enhancement in the Honorarium of Anganwari Workers & Helpers to Rs 10,000 and Rs 6000 per month respectively, on the analogy of the states of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and others, pre-school certificate issued by Anganwari Centre should be made mandatory for admission in Primary School to increase the enrolment of Pre-school beneficiaries in Anganwari Centres besides other demands were also highlighted. |
