Srinagar, July 24: Militants on Tuesday night lobbed a grenade at an army camp in Nader village of Tral township in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. However, there was no immediate report of any loss of life or injuries. A police official said that the grenade was lobbed at the army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles unit at 9:30 PM on Tuesday when locals were offering late-night prayers at the village mosque. He said the grenade exploded with a bang. Following the explosion, army soldiers on duty retaliated by firing heavily towards the militants, triggering panic in the area. However, the militants managed to escape from the spot, said the official. He said the area was cordoned off to nab the attackers. |
