ASI acquitted of corruption charges | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 21: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu YP Bourney acquitted Ranjit Singh ASI of corruption charges as prosecution failed to prove its case. While acquitting Ranjit Singh from the charges, Special Jugde Anti-corruption Jammu YP Bourney after hearing Adv KS Charak for the accused observed that complainants version that accused had a deal with him under which accused retained Rs.1500/- recovered upon his personal search has been found factually incorrect. The story of deal for the release on bail also does not find favour from any of the circumstances as the witness who stood as surety for the complainant and as such would have naturally the inkling, has negated the same while deposing as witness for defence. Court observed that prosecution has not been able to prove its charges against the accused beyond a reasonable doubt and acquitted the accused from the charges leveled against him. |
