Govind Chouhan Jammu | Nov 30 Political parties are on a splurge upon to woo the masses either to appease their leadership or to create an illusion that they have gained the roots in the city. Bhartiya Janta Party marked the city with Saffronization to mark the arrival of the Raj Nath Singh the senior party leader and national president which compelled the Congress to turn the city to Congress colour to mark the reopening of the Government Offices i.e. the Durbar Move. Be it any political party but all seemed to be on spending spree to woo the masses that they are the masters in the city. Though all political parties including PDP and NC too the local cadre of the all moves abreast to paint the city in their colours but the way the Bahujan Samaj Party has left the city to blue it has set the debate in town that why political parties become spendthrift to mark a show instead of giving the same in charity. ‘The same money could have been benefited the old and infirm in better manner if had it been donated to the Old and Infirm Home, said Aakash Gupta. However, his presence at the BJP headquarters here in the town triggered rumors that he might have joined the party. World's most deadly disease, AIDS is staring the state at its face. There is an alarming and sharp rise in HIV/AIDS cases. While officials claim there are 745 such cases in the insurgency-hit state, unofficial estimates peg the number at 25,000. In 1999, there were only two cases reported, writes Grassroots Features. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 30: The traditional seat of power in the winter capital of the state, for last 60, years is all set to be shifted from the present site at one end of the Residency Road. A decision at high level has been taken by the state administration and a plan is being prepared for shifting of the residencies of the Chief Minister, other ministers and VIPs from the present site at one end of the Residency Road, to some more spacious place at one end of the city.
