| Estranged partners shake hands, attend cabinet meeting | | | |

The estranged PDP is back to the big brother and so are its ministers who attended a cabinet meeting, convened by Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad,here today in the civil secretariat.
The PDP ministers had boycotted three cabinet meetings held since February 28 in protest against Chief Minister’s refusal to acknowledge a letter sent by the leader of the PDP legislature party leader, Abdul Aziz Zargar, requesting Azad for convening a special meeting of the cabinet for a discussion on the demand for demilitarization and scrapping of AFSPA.
Prior to the reconciliation process carried by the Prime Minister and AICC Chief Azad had taken a decision to go ahead with the cabinet meetings even if the PDP Ministers remained absent. And the PDP had decided to keep off the cabinet meetings till the matter was sorted out by Delhi and later approved by the Political Affairs Committee.

Kashmir's tallest political leader, Farooq Abdullah, will be the new Union Tourism Minister. Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, took the decision to accommodate Farooq Abdullah in the Congress-led coalition government at the Centre after holding separate meetings with Sonia Gandhi and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
