jammu, May 20:The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department has dispatched advance two month ration to the earthquake affected areas of erstwhile Doda district.
The information was given at a meeting chaired by the Minister for Urban Development, Nawang Rigzin Jora, convened to review the functioning of PDD, PHE, CA&PD, Police, JMC, JDA and other services departments, here today.
The Minister, who is here to attend the Summer Secretariat, reviewed in detail the stock and supply position of the ration in the region.
Seeking the details, the Minister asked the Director, CA&PD to make sure that ration was distributed among the people, particularly in the earthquake affected areas of erstwhile Doda district. In this regard, he called for holding regular inspection of the sale depots to check black-marketing.

REASI, May 20: Two persons were killed and six others were injured, two of them critically when a passenger Van skidded off the road and fell into a gorge here at Jamallan Nallah near Village Sarh.
The deceased persons have been identified as Zahid Ul Islam, S/O Shabir Ahmed, Mohammad Shafi S/O Azim, while the critically injured have been identified as Mehnaz Kouser D/O Shabir Ahmed, Ahmed Din S/O Bashir Ahmed. Both the critically injured persons were airlifted to Jammu for specialised treatment.
For the purpose, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta, deputed a helicopter for airlifting the critically injured on the requisition made by DC Reasi.

REASI, May 20: The people of this hill bound district would soon be able to register their complaints at the Deputy Commissioner’s office as the district administration has decided to establish a Public Grievance redressal Help Line at the district headquarter.
This was informed by District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, while speaking at a public grievance redressal camp here at Pouni.
People from 35 panchayats of the Block participated and projected their demands before the officers present.

REASI, May 20: Member Parliament Udhampur-Doda constituency, Choudhary Lal Singh today said that all villages of his constituency would be connected by roads by 2018 under the Prime Minister’s Road Connectivity and other schemes.
Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating a bridge at Agar village on Reasi –Jyotipuram road, the MP said that massive road connectivity programme launched under various state and central government sponsored schemes have set in a new phase of progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
