Ahmed Ali Fayyaz SRINAGAR, May 25: National Conference (NC) patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah, who has been returned from the Central Kashmir constituency of Srinagar-Budgam for Lok Sabha for second term in his 29-year-long political career, is most likely to be inducted as a Cabinet Minister in Dr Manmohan Singh’s UPA Government on Wednesday. Well placed political sources told Early Times that the former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, would be among more than 25 Ministers likely to be sworn-in on Wednesday. Earlier, the swearing-in ceremony had been tentatively scheduled on Tuesday but sudden disturbing developments in Punjab and the Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee’s preoccupation with the relief work for the cyclone victims in West Bengal had delayed expansion of the Union Council of Ministers by at least one day. Agencies Jalandhar ,May 25 Several parts of Punjab continued to be on the boil today with trains burnt and key highways blocked as violence by followers of the Dera Sachh Khand, opposing the attack on sect leaders in the Austrian capital Vienna, spread and brought the state to a standstill. Armed with sticks, swords, bricks and stones, sect followers came out in large numbers in Punjab's Doaba belt and tension spread in Jalandhar, Phagwara, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr towns. Again, girls dominated merit list by securing 123 positions as compared to boys who secured 43 positions. Akshay Mahajan from Kristu Jyoti Convent School emerged as topper among 57682 students, who appeared for the examination taking 491 marks out of a total of 500 (98.20 per cent). Ludhiana May 25 The Delhi-Lahore bus service 'Sada-e-Sarhad' was stopped by authorities in Punjab's industrial city of Ludhiana today following large-scale violent protests by Dera Sachh Khand sect followers in the state, opposing the attack on sect leaders in the Austrian capital Vienna.
