– The State Government today ordered transfers and postings of 15 officers including two KAS officers with immediate effect.
1. Mr. Hafizullah shah, KAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Shopian has been posted as Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Shopian against available vacancy.
2. Mr. Kewal Krishan sharma, KAS, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Rajouri has been transferred and posted as General manager, district Industries Centre, Rajouri against available vacancy.
3. Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kulgam has been posted as Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Kulgam against available vacancy.
4. Mr. Bikram Singh Jamwal, Collector, Land Acquisition, J&K Housing Board, Jammu has been transferred and posted as Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Reasi against available vacancy.

In a significant move, India and China have decided to hold first ever Joint Army exercises aimed at developing bilateral military to military level confidence building measures.
The decision to hold joint exercises comes as a follow up of two countries claiming "substantial and satisfactory" progress in discussions on Joint services issue during the just concluded visit to China by a high level tri-service delegation led by Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee General JJ Singh.

Noting that cross-border terrorism continued to affect Indo-Pak relations, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said the dialogue process made some progress during last year but the ties remained "well short of potential" and are yet to be "fully normalised".
The Ministry maintained that the dialogue process hinges on January 6, 2004 commitment of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf not to permit any territory under Islamabad's control to be used to support terrorism against India.
"India seeks a cooperative and constructive relationship with Pakistan based on trust and confidence in an atmosphere free of violence," the MEA said in its annual report.

Sources said that the case being high sensitive in nature has been communicated to the secretary health and an inquiry committee has been initiated in this regard.
Sources in the health department revealed that by tampering the date of birth, one health educator aimed at getting service benefits for at least two years. He has allegedly tampered with his date of birth to be born in 1954 instead of the actual date of year of birth i.e.1952.
