| LeT plans attack on I'Day in J&K | | | |
Jammu, August 2: A big group of ultras have infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district via the Line of Control on July 30 and were heading for Tangmargh belt to meet a Lashkar-e-Taiba chief to engineer a major attack on the eve of Independence Day, a youth, the terrorists abducted as guide, said, according to police sources.
A group of terrorists numbering 20 to 22 had infiltrated into Poonch via Doonigram area along LoC and kidnapped a villager Mohmmad Sharief to use him as a guide in Poonch district on July 30, the sources informed.
However, after two days of guiding them in Poonch via Loran, where one terrorist was killed by troops on July 31, Sharief gave them a slip and escaped on Tuesday night, they said.
He approached security forces and police in Poonch and narrated the tale of his abduction to them.
Sharief told them that a LeT terrorist group is heading to Tangmargh belt of Baramulla district via Poonch to meet their LeT 'chief of operations' for engineering a major attack on the eve of coming Independence Day.

New Delhi, Aug 2 : The Prithvi and Agni strategic missile systems, as well as their variants, have been inducted in the armed forces, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told Rajya Sabha today.
In a written reply, he said the development of the Akash and Trishul surface-to-air missiles and Nag anti-tank missile is complete and the armed forces have been requested to place orders for them.
