Jammu | Sep 14
The Muslim holy month of Ramzan begins from today and we extend warmest greetings to our Muslim brethren, with the hope and prayers that it brings peace and love for humanity in the minds of all. We identify ourselves with the grouse of Muslims in Jammu that unlike in Kashmir valley, where interruption free electric power is ensured to be available to the people for the whole of month, no such announcement with regard to Jammu region has been made and if the first day of Ramzan falling on Friday is any indication the routine of power curtailment will be as usual. We hope that at least in the early hours of morning when sehri is held and in the evening at the time of iftar power curtailment will not be effected.
The failure of the authorities to regulate the prices of essentials, particularly during the month of Ramzan, mainly those items which form part of the routine diet of Muslims during the month, is a matter of concern for all. The chicken and mutton prices have particularly shot up though only marginally, with the authorities concerned...

NIRBHAY JAMMUAL
Jammu, Sept 14: The Jammu and Kashmir government is making all out efforts to do what then Maharaja's had to do under the influence of British administration but it has to be keenly seen that how much gaps are bridged between the two regions.
Even as the pace of work picks up on the Mughal road connecting the region of Rajouri-Poonch with Shopian in South Kashmir, the Chief Minister has asked for connecting Poonch with Badgam in Central Kashmir.
Apart from the purpose of infrastructure and economic development, the Jammu region has always been sought to be connected with Kashmir for the purpose of emotional integration. Historical records suggest ...

As Peoples Democratic Party boasts to have grown up as a mature political organization; a silent campaign of dissent is on against the blue eyed boys who are calling shots against the senior leaders and founder members for their proximity with the party leadership.
One such eye sore of the old guard is one Peerzada Mansoor Hussain. When asked about the political stature of Peerzada Mansoor, one of his beta noire described, "he is an unknown political face with most popular name.
The senior leader said that the people like Peerzada Mansoor are a phenomenon, they come like a wind, cling at the top and just rub away the senior leaders and particularly...
