In 19th incident of this year, ceasefire violated at 7 places in Mendhar sector Early Times report Jammu, Sept 21: Amidst celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr on both sides of Line of Control and exchange of sweets between Indian and Pakistani troops on International Border, there was a usual act on the dividing line –violation of ceasefire at least at seven places along LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch district. This is not the first time when Pakistani forces or militants resorted to unprovoked firing or made an infiltration attempt through Line of Control or International Border on the occasion of Eid. In eight of the past ten years there has been case of skirmishes on the border on the day of Eid. Keen watchers of the situation here believe that the Pakistan Army and Rangers take the firing on Indian side as a form of celebration of Eid. Sources said that in another case of ceasefire violation by the Pakistan side, small arms firing took place from across the border at Mendhar in Krishnaghati sector. Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 21: Ahead of convening of formal meeting of all members of the Special Investigation Team probing the evidence tampering in Amandeep murder case, the top brass of Jammu Police today met at the Gandhi Nagar Police Station and did preliminary questioning of three officials connected with the case. Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 21: Two jawans today died of cardiac arrest in Baramulla and Jammu districts of north Kashmir. Naik Thongpa Radha Krishna of 7 Madras regiment was found dead at Gati Post near Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector, 100 kms from here, in Baramulla district, police said. According to doctors, the jawan died due to a massive heart attack. However, police have registered a case and investigation was on. In Jammu, Pardeep Chib of 157 battalion of Territorial Army died due of cardiac arrest when he was patrolling near LoC in Pargwal forward area of the district, police said. Islamabad, Sep 21: Foreign Ministers of India and Pakistan will meet in New York on September 27 when Islamabad's commitment and action against terror emanating from its soil will come under review. Three killed in road mishaps

Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 21: Three persons, including two minors, died and 13 others suffered injuries in separate road accidents across Jammu and Kashmir today, police said. Amta Ali (7) was crushed to death by a truck at link road Noulari, 30 kms from here, in Baramulla district this morning. In another incident, a speeding vehicle mowed down five-year-old Anusya in Badamibagh cantonment area, they said. A mini bus overturned at Neejeebhat, 55 kms from here in Baramulla, killing Bilal Ahmad Lone on the spot. Early Times Report Guwahati, Sep 21 : A major earthquake hit the North East today at around 1425 hours rocking the urban centres like Guwahati and Shillong for more than 15 seconds. According to a report from the Central Seismological Observatory in Shillong, the earthquake has 6.3 intensity in the Richter scale and the epicenter is somewhere in the Nagaland-Myanmar border.
