After a sustained media campaign nailing the claims of transparency and accountability on the manner in which Chief Minister's brother was allotted a prime commercial property in the business hub of Bahu Plaza, the government has cancelled all allotments made in the recent years. It was not only one particular allotment in favour of the Chief Minister's brother but even those made during the stewardship of the Peoples Democratic Party before 2005 too have been cancelled in a single go. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has ordered cancellation of allotment of 31 shops and halls made by Jammu Development Authority in recent years allegedly without following the procedure for allotment.
