With third consecutive day, the security forces
maintained an upper hand on the militants killing twelve of them in
different encounters across the state. Meanwhile, a security personal
was killed in the operations while an Army major sustained injuries.
Reports said, Army foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down three
militants along Line of Control in Poonch district today.
In a separate incident, police and troops of the 10 Rashtriya Rifles
troops launched an operation on a tip-off in Ghatt area of Doda
district. A gunbattle took place between hiding militants and security
forces, Doda Senior Superintendent of Police Manohar Singh said.

Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain today in petition challenging the allotment of hall/shop No 209 (A-2) South Block Bahu Plaza allotted illegally and arbitrarily to one Sajjad Ahmed Bhat brother of Chief Minister, directed Qazi Mohd Afzal, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Department, who is also Chairman JDA to file personal affidavit in the Court giving the circumstances under which the allotments were made after returning tender money to the petitioner Sunil Mahajan.
