Katra, Sept 1: Bollywood heartthrob Sanjay Dutt, now known more by his Munna Bhai identity today offered an ovation to the people of Jammu for their peaceful and loving nature as the actor arrived here to pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Trikuta Hills. Dutt, who could not reach here yesterday due to bad weather today reached Katra to pay obeisance at the shrine but he could not reach at the holy cave as chopper service remained suspended against due to the bad weather. "Munna Bhai would not offer puja at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine on Monday," said Jammu SP, Katra Ashok Sharma. The Jammu and Kashmir police had made special security arrangement for the Bollywood star. Though he never claimed his marriage to Manyata, the lady was seen accompanying him to the pilgrimages and visits to the shrines. After his release from the jail, Sanjay Dutt today had first elaborate interaction with the media. Jammu, Sept 2: In an interesting event, the President of the Pradesh Congress Committee and Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today claimed to have survived a fatal militant attack but Police denying any such thing described the incident as a minor tyre burst. It happened this morning at Potkhah near Pattan on Srinagar-Baramullah road when Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed was on way to a public meeting that a deafening sound created panic leading to fire in retaliation by the Army jawans who were just passing by. Jammu, Sept 2: The hot pursuit vigilance campaign against corruption has been dealt with yet another cold blow as court has asked the probing agency to release the confiscated property of a government official. The petitioner in the case, a Range Officer in the Forest department had submitted in the court that the property confiscated by the Vigilance Organisation for allegedly being disproportionate to his known sources of income, actually belonged to his father. Cabinet reshuffle likely next week

Jammu, Sept 2: After a prolonged delay, the much awaited cabinet expansion and reshuffle in the council of ministers has become a near certainty coming week. Highly sources told EARLY TIMES that the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is most likely to induct some new ministers and change portfolios of some other on September 6. "The expansion and reshuffle is tentatively slated for September 6 and if this date is not kept the expansion may seen an ordinate delay", said a top political source. Qazi Mohammad Afzal, an MLA of the Peoples Democratic Party from Ganderbal constituency was a Minister for Housing and Urban Development and Forests. Katra, September 2 Munna Bhai aka Sanjay Dutt may have been making all possible efforts to visit Mata Vaishno devi shrine but two days after moving out of his home he is yet to perform darshan inside the cave shrine situated in trikuta hills,13 kms from here. After spending night in New Delhi Sanjay arrived here in Jammu en route Katra and was again stuck up there due to bad weather conditions and till late evening was resting in his hotel room along with girl friend Manyata and close relatives.
