| Minor reshuffle in J&K administration | | | |
Srinagar, Sep 8 The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has effected a minor reshuffle in the state administration.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad approved the transfer and posting of seven Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) officers.
Mr G M Mir has been posted as Secretary in the Higher and Technical Education Department, Mr Abdul Rashid Mir, has been posted as Director Land Records, Kashmir in place of Mr Abdul Majid, who has been transferred as Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, Kashmir.

| | | | 30 killed, 56 injured in Malegaon twin blasts; curfew imposed | | | | At least 30 people are feared dead and more than 100 people have been injured after bomb blasts rocked Malegaon town in Nashik district of Maharashtra.
As per reports, the injured have been taken to different hospitals in Malegaon, including Farhan Hospital, Ali Akbar Hospital, the Rural Hospital of Malegaon and Medicare Hospital.
Also, around 112 people who have been injured have been admitted at Wadia Hospital. Reports also state that minors have been killed in the stampede after the blasts.
The situation in Malegaon is now growing tense. There have been reports of an incident of stone pelting at Wadia Hospital and crowds have surrounded Azadnagar Police Station.

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the meeting of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with President Pervez Musharraf in Havana next week, India on Friday made it clear that unless the issue of terrorism is addressed in a "substantive way" by Pakistan, it would be difficult to carry forward the dialogue process.

The Kashmir Valley suffered losses of Rs 188.811 crore in the recent floods with paddy spread over 92,724.75 hectares and other crops in 34,250 hectares of land destroyed, according to preliminary estimates.
In addition, 382 houses were been heavily damaged and 6,103 partially damaged in the six districts of Jammu and Kashmir as per tentative information collected from across the Valley, officials said on Friday.
They said 425 villages were affected by incessant rains and floods of which 68 were in Pulwama, 50 in Badgam, 68 in Srinagar and 221 in Anantnag districts.
