1/12/2014 10:30:08 PM
ET Report
Srinagar, Jan 12: Prof. Saifuddin Soz president Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Sunday said that he is not sure about pre-poll between Congress and its alliance partner National Conference for forthcoming Parliamentary or Assembly elections and any decision in this regard will be taken by the Congress high command in Delhi, off course, after analyzing the ground reports. Soz was addressing a function held in Hotel Broadway here where some prominent political figures like Mohammad Yaqoob Vakil. Abdul Gani Naseem,. Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, Bashir Ahmad Malik, Shaheen Sultan Qazi Hakim U Din, Hafiz Mohd Iqbal, Gul Rehman, Aneesa Gul, Moulvi Zahoor and Riyaz Ahmad Malik joined the party. The PCC chief said that he will surely post his party high command about the opinion and observations of party's workers at the grass root level. "I am not sure about any pre poll alliance with NC for forthcoming parliamentary or assembly elections and our party workers want a friendly match with NC." "We are prepared to support the coalition government till the last day but any decision on pre poll alliance is to be taken by the party high command. But I will surely discuss the ground position and convey the feedback of our workers at grass root level to the party high command. After analyzing the pros and cons, the party high command will decide about the future course of action," Soz said. He said that he is ready to undertake any political assignment given to him by the party high command in future. "I think God has given me the faculty that I have the capacity to discharge with sincerity and commitment any political assignment which given to me to the best of my ability." The PCC chief also said that January 15, deadline for creation of new administrative units is not 'workable' as the cabinet subcommittee which is visiting nook and corner of the state will finalize its report with a day or two. "The cabinet sub committee appointed by the cabinet is going from district to district. They are going to conclude their public meetings with a day or two. Then they will share their findings with the cabinet because the information gathered from the ground by the cabinet subcommittee needs to be analyzed and then only it can be shared with the cabinet for the future course of action. So fixing January 15 as a deadline is not workable," Soz observed. Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by the PCC , Soz presided over the function and introduced these political Personalities to the Media and audience in the Hall. Those who flanked Prof. Soz on the Stage included G. A. Mir Minister of Tourism, Mohammad Muzaffar Parray MLC, Sr. Vice President, Krishan Kumar Amla Sr. Vice President and Treasurer, and others. After introducing each one of these Personalities, Prof. Soz welcomed these people and garlanded them.
All these Prominent Leaders joined INC on this occasion and declared that they were attracted to the party because of Congress Party's Preogramme of service to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. "They were particularly attracted to the party due to selfless service rendered to the people and party by Prof. Saifuddin Soz. They were also attracted to the Congress Party because of Prof. Soz's simplicity and dedication to the cause of the people. All these leaders said that they would highlight the problems of the people of areas to which they belong and they hope that Prof. Soz will join them to seek the resolution of the problems." Prof. Soz thanked these prominent leaders and Senior Leaders of the Congress Party who attended this function. Mohammad Anwar Bhat, Gulam Nabi Mir Lasjan both General Secretaries, Farooq Andrabi, Sr. Leader, Master Mohd Maqbool Working President Budgam, Dr. Syed Ahmad Secretary PCC, Shameema Sopori General Secretary Mahila Congress and others were also present.
