| Gandhi Nagar Hospital to be equipped to reduce pressure on GMC: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 6 : Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that the Govt Gandhi Nagar Hospital is being equipped with advance medicare facilities to tackle the increasing rush of patients and reduce number of referral cases to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital (SMGSH). He said for this purpose facilities at par with Government Medical College are being created in the hospital. The Minister while chairing a meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti(RKS) of Gandhi Nagar Hospital, here this morning which was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr Romesh Gupta, Environmentalist Mrs Ruchi Chauchan, Executive Engineer R&B Ranjan Mengi besides other members of Rogi Kalan Samiti. Taking review of the ongoing developmental works in the hospital, the minister asked the concerned functionaries to start the work for face lifting of old OPD, emergency theatre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), gynae operation theatres, labour rooms besides street lights and old Ortho wards,. He said for this purpose funds are available under Hospital Development Fund (HDF) and RKS funds. Regarding drinking water facilities in the hospital, Bhalla informed that PHE department will dig a mini Tube Well soon after release of funds. He asked the PDD to upgrade the existing installed transformers to ensure improved power supply to the hospital. The Minister asked the hospital authorities to prepare a detailed project report and submit the same to the government to take up urgent nature of works in the hospital for upgrading the existing facilities and construction of emergency Fire Exits besides purchase of new fire fighting equipments. Earlier, the Revenue Minister also visited Bhour Pind and Gangyal and listened to the development related problems of the people. He directed the R&B department to immediately start the construction of road including surface drainage work for the convenience of general masses. |
